ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Teresita Lantin Rosario obtained her BS in agriculture and MS in genetics from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). She received her PhD in genetics from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. Currently, she is a professor emeritus at UPLB.
Upon her return to UPLB, she worked on the breeding and genetics of tropical ornamental plants—conducting researches on anthuriums, mussaendas, orchids, medinillas, aglaonemas, ferns, and other ornamentals.
Dr. Rosario’s numerous accolades include the 2024 UP Alumni Association Distinguished Alumna, 2024 UPLB Outstanding Alumna, and 2024 UPLB Institute of Crop Science, College of Agriculture and Food Science Outstanding Professor Emeritus.
The first edition of this book—Fragrant Ornamental Plants in the Philippines—was given the 2009 Outstanding Book Award by the National Academy of Science and Technology.
