ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born in 1949 in Cotabato City and raised in Zamboanga City, Francis C. Macansantos earned his Master’s degree in Creative Writing in Silliman University, and has taught in Mindanao State University in Marawi City, Silliman University in Dumaguete City, the U.P. College Baguio and Baguio Colleges Foundation in Baguio City. In 1983, the poet won 2nd prize in the Palanca Memorial awards, and in 1989, the first prize. In 1980, he served in the teaching panel of the Silliman National Summer Writers’ Workshop at which he has often been a guest panelist. He lives with his wife, poet-mathematician Priscilla (nee Supnet) and their daughter Monica in Baguio City, where he has lived since the early 1980’s.
