ABOUT THE BOOK

In seemingly nonchalant and familiar registers of the everyday, Daposala boldly goes against the grain of conventional defamiliarizing and elevated language of poetry. Unapologetic, grounded, and earnest, these poems have the Bisdak swag, cool because simultaneously self-assured and bashful in its meditations, thoughtfulness, and appreciation of the presence of others in one’s life. A book that reminds you of your own people and makes you want to keep on reading.

Shane Carreon, Poet

Daposala’s sophomore book, Jamico Boys, beautifully weaves words together, creating a tagay of rum-like verses. Each poem is a sip of intoxicating emotions as he delves deep into the complexities of childhood, friendship, self-discovery, love, and life.

R. Joseph Dazo, Fictionist
