DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE BOOK
Revolver contains Mike Maniquiz’s more mature meditation on and in response to human conditions that have shaped his consciousness, poetically and socially. That the title has symbolic implications is meant to push meaning beyond the boundaries of the pages and to configurate it within the larger context of Philippine societal realities…. Language, not idea, is the foundation of poetry. Formal structure and its necessary elements, when intensely coalesced, create that poetic explosion that jar the readers to aesthetic wakefulness. This book possesses much of that explosiveness. It should be handled with care, and enjoyed.
– Cirilo F. Bautista
